Roots – If you live near UVA Grounds, the easiest (and maybe the tastiest) way to eat healthy is visiting Roots Natural Kitchen. Founded by UVA around 5 years ago, this delicious restaurant focuses on extraordinary salads, with greens or rice bases. A Roots bowl doesn’t come cheap, but the fresh, interesting options are generously portioned and make you feel good about what you’re eating.

The Spot – This restaurant, a collaboration between Vu Noodles and Greenie’s, is the most well-known vegetarian eatery in Charlottesville. Open Monday through Friday from 11 to 2, The Spot boasts vegan offerings like tofu banh mi, and a jackfruit BBQ sandwich. An all vegan and vegetarian joint sounds like a great way to live healthier.

Feast! – Next up on our list, we have Feast!, a gem located inside the Main Street Market. This cafe offers a bevy of entrees, from incredible salad and grain bowls to an overwhelming number of sandwiches. They have tons of vegetarian and vegan options, and the pimento cheese sandwich comes highly recommended.

The various gyms offer tons of recreation and fitness classes for your enjoyment as well.
