Ace Biscuit and Barbecue was a blue-ribbon barbecue joint on Harris Street in Downtown Charlottesville.
Early in 2026 it became apparent that the popular bbq joint would cease to operate. One of several restaurants owned by Charlottesville financier Stefan Friedman, the group that included Littlejohn’s, Draft Tap House, Bonny & Read, collectively closed shop.
Below is a description of what once was:
Started by blue-collar artists of smoked meat, Ace Biscuit and Barbecue is a humble restaurant with all-day breakfast biscuit sandwiches and BBQ, plus local beer and from-scratch sauces. Serving breakfast and lunch specials, Ace offers an authentic taste of southern cooking. Ace also caters large quantities for special events with Breakfast and lunch and catering EVERYDAY!
The restaurant was acquired and folded into Sefan Friedman’s restaurant empire, A Moveable Feast, in 2023, and the goodness of barbecue, craft beer, and hospitality continues! Southern Soul Food/Barbecue. Serving Virginia raised Beef.
