Duner’s

Started in 1983, Duner’s has been among Charlottesville’s top restaurants for 30 years. Christian Kelly, the chef well-known for making Maya a popular dining destination, and his wife Jennifer became owners of Duner’s in 2024. Instantly we recognized the key to Duner’s future: The Kellys intended to change nothing!

Duner’s is a classic Charlottesville haunt. An elevated but casual Franco-American house, the menu continues weekly rotatation of various fish entrées, mussels, crab cakes and house-made pasta, all in a lively atmosphere with an interesting wine list. A lively bar beneath a Polynesian coastal scene sets the stage. Here you can be served classic cocktails with no need for a reservation, although the bar will become crowded by 7pm. Elsewhere in the expanded dining room, reservations are recommended, and you should prepare to enjoy a classic “Ivy” night in Charlottesville.
