Hearty German fare for your Guten Appetit! On April 1, 1974, Eckhard and Bruni Thalwitz opened the Bavarian Chef on Route 29 in Madison, Virginia. The Bavarian Chef quickly became a local favorite, renowned for its tasty fare and warm hospitality. Generous portions, family-style side dishes, and mouth-watering desserts are the hallmark of a hearty meal at The Bavarian Chef. Today, chef/owner Jerome Thalwitz continues his parents’ tradition of excellence.
