First opening on
the UVA Corner in 1923, The Virginian still operates as Charlottesville’s oldest restaurant. Featuring a menu with traditional American food, the line up is most famous for its mac ‘n cheese with a hash brown on top.
Although The Virginian is a very narrow venue, it holds a vast amount of Charlottesville’s history and functions as a charming atmosphere, perfect for a night out on the Corner.
Serving lunch daily to professors, students, and families, dinner becomes a dimmer, more intimate and classic affair where groups and dates find a booth to make their home, all leading to the famous Virginian late night, where students party and sing until 2AM every night.
