Tokyo Rose

Tokyo Rose is a sushi restaurant located on Ivy Road, providing both in-house service and online orders. The restaurant gains its namesake from the prominent World War II figure, Iva Toguri D’Aquino, better known as her alias, Tokyo Rose.

Downstairs features a combination of sushi and sports bar with wide-screen TVs and a karaoke machine. In days gone by, this was a compelling satellite of Charlottesville alt/goth music. With all the aesthetics of a bomb shelter, the basement could rock the house, but sadly that’s slipped away.

Back upstairs, fine Japanese Cuisine in a passable dining room or full-bore Sushi Bar for cold entrees and cocktails of a certain Japanese persuasion. First-rate sushi bar features creative and talented chefs with more than ten years of experience.
