Lucky’s Cheesesteaks
Lucky’s Cheesesteaks is a classic Cheesesteak & Sub shop on Charlottesville’s Historic Downtown Mall. Its signature dish, of course, is the Cheesesteak, but the menu also includes other regional favorites like Chicago Beef, Roast Pork, Italian Subs & Parms for dine-in or takeout.
Inside, the space has an edgy, urban feel that mixes well with a sound system whose playlist is recognized for its groove. Lucky’s Cheeseteaks is the latest production of UVA alum and restaurant entrepreneur Patrick McClure, who made numerous field trips to Philadelphia to learn what it takes to make the perfect cheesesteak. The result? Liscio’s Rolls. Cooper Sharp American Cheese, and of course Cheese Whiz. And ribeye steak, shaved thin and piled high, that, with grilled onions, may well convert you into an Eagles fan. Indeed, a Lucky Cheesesteak could be as good as a tush push!
